I believe that design education should develop students’ ability to think critically, visually, and conceptually, rather than focusing only on final outcomes. My teaching philosophy is based on the idea that design is a process of exploration, observation, and problem solving.
In my classes, I focus on building strong foundations in design principles, spatial composition, and visual communication. I encourage students to experiment, make mistakes, and learn through practice rather than fear of failure. I see the design studio as a safe space where ideas can grow through discussion, exploration, and hands-on work.
As an assistant lecturer, I see myself as a guide rather than an authority figure. My goal is to support students in developing confidence, curiosity, and a clear design voice, so they can not only design well, but also explain and defend their ideas with clarity.
